Import iPod Music to a MacBook

Import iPod Music to a MacBook - Authorize your MacBook for iTunes purchases by opening iTunes. Click on the "Store" menu at the top and select "Authorize Computer."

Enter your Apple ID and password in the pop-up box when prompted. If you have more than four computers already authorized to play your iTunes purchases, you must first de-authorize another computer.
Select "File" from the iTunes menu. Select "Transfer Purchases from iPod," which shows up under "Sync iPod" and above "Page Setup..." It may include your iPod's name.

Plug in your iPod to your computer. When the iPod appears in the source list on the left-hand side of iTunes, click on it and select the "Summary" tab.

Look under Options and click "Enable disk use." This allows you to see your iPod as a disk and copy material from it to your MacBook, rather than letting your iTunes do all the work without your input.

When you plug your iPod into your MacBook, it wants to copy songs from the computer, not the other way around. While this cuts down on piracy, it also invites frustration for Apple users. Transferring songs becomes a challenge when you buy a new computer and want to transfer songs from your iPod to your MacBook, or when you experience a system crash and lose your computer iTunes library. Fortunately, a few tricks can get your MacBook up and running with a complete list of songs from your iPod.
