Download Music on a 2nd Generation iPod Shuffle - Connect the second-generation iPod Shuffle to a computer using a USB cable. Launch iTunes if does not launch automatically.

Click the iPod Shuffle in the left pane under "Devices," and then click the "Manually manage music" tab from the iPod Summary tab.
Select the music files you want to upload to your media player, and drag them to your iPod Shuffle icon under "Devices."

Right-click your iPod Shuffle under "Devices" and click "Eject." Disconnect your iPod from your computer.

The second-generation iPod Shuffle by Apple is a tiny media player that allows you to download and play music in MP3 and AAC. It comes in two versions: the 1GB model and the 2GB model. Apple states that the 1Gb model can hold up to 240 songs while the 2GB model can hold up to 500 songs. Using iTunes, the default iPod management program, you can download songs to your second-generation iPod shuffle using one of two simple methods.
