Repair a 16GB iPod Touch

Repair a 16GB iPod Touch - Plug your iPod Touch into your computer (which should also be connected to a power outlet). Wait until your Touch is charged before continuing.

Hold down the sleep button on the top right of your Touch until the red "Slide to Off" slider appears on your screen. Slide your Touch off and wait a few seconds.
Hold down the sleep button until the Apple logo appears on the screen; if it doesn't respond, hold down both the sleep and home buttons simultaneously until you see the logo.

Go to "Tools" and select "Windows Update" or the Apple logo and select "Software Update" depending on whether your computer is a PC or a Mac. If an iTunes update is available, select it.

Open iTunes and click on your Touch in the "Devices" column, then click the "Settings" tab. Click "Check for Update," then accept an iPod Touch update if one is available.

Apple's 16GB iPod Touch gives you lots of space for your music, movies, games and other useful applications from the iTunes App Store. Because the touch screen is delicate and disassembling the device is difficult, Apple will void your warranty if you attempt to take it apart and fix it. However, there are several common issues and bugs with the Touch, such as a non-responsive home button or the screen freezing. In this case, Apple has a few troubleshooting tips that may help to solve your issue.
