Use an iPod Classic as a Portable Hard Drive - Plug your iPod into your computer using the USB or firewire cable.

Find your iPod in the left column of iTunes and highlight it.
Click on the "Summary" tab.

Click on "Enable Disk Use" under the Options section.



Click "OK" to apply changes.

The iPod classic can store thousands of songs, photos and videos, and it can also be used as a portable hard drive. You can store any file you want on your iPod, giving you the option to carry important files with you at all times. Using the built-in option found in iTunes, you can enable this useful function.
