Click on your iPod in the "devices" pane and then click on "summary." Select "manually manage music and videos" and then click on "apply."
Decide on the type of data you wish to erase such as "music," "movies" or "television shows." Hover over each file you wish to delete. It will display it in your iTunes box.
Click on "edit," then, click on "delete." Repeat this for each media file you wish to erase.
