Go to the "Music" tab under the "Library" heading on the left side of the iTunes window.
Open the "Edit" menu at the top of the screen and choose "Select All" to highlight all of the songs in your iTunes library.
Right-click on any of the highlighted items and select "Reset Play Count" from the contextual menu that appears. This will delete the play count data for all of the songs in your library.
Plug your iPod into your computer using an iPod USB cable.
Each time that you listen to a complete song on your iPod, the device records it in your play count data to help track your listening history and music preferences. When you connect your iPod to a computer and sync it, the play count data from the device is combined with your listening history in iTunes. While there is no way to reset play counts directly from the iPod, you can delete them in iTunes and then update your device.
