Scroll down the list of songs. When you find the first one you want to place on your list, highlight it, then press and hold down the center button on your iPod. The song should flash briefly, indicating that it has been saved to the new playlist.
Repeat Step 2 with all the other songs you wish to place on the list, taking care to put them in the order you want.
Press the "Menu" button when you're done saving all the songs you want, then scroll up to the "Playlist" option, and press it. It should show you a list of all the playlists on the iPod.
Apple iPods work in conjunction with iTunes software, essentially acting as a portable extension of iTunes. Because of that, you don't usually download playlists from the iPod; instead, you create a playlist on iTunes and upload it to your iPod. The one exception entails "On-The-Go" playlists created on the iPod, which you can later save and download onto your iTunes software as you wish. Using it, you can create your own playlists instantly, then download them onto your computer when you are done.
