Click the "iTunes" menu on a Mac or the "Edit" menu in Windows and choose "Preferences."
Click the "Playback" tab at the top of the pop-up window.
Check the box next to "Sound Check" and click "OK."
Apple's iTunes software includes a feature called "Sound Check" which automatically evaluates the audio levels of your entire music library and adjusts songs so that they all play at the same volume level. The Sound Check feature is also available on iPod devices with click wheels, including the iPod classic and nano. To set up Sound Check, enable it in iTunes, then on your iPod.
