Make the Backlight on an iPod Touch Brighter

Make the Backlight on an iPod Touch Brighter - Press the "Home" button on the iPod touch, located below the touchscreen display.

Tap "Settings."
Tap "Brightness."

Touch the brightness slider and drag it to the right to increase the backlight brightness.

Tap the "ON/OFF" toggle to the right of Auto-Brightness until "ON" is highlighted if you want the iPod touch to automatically adjust the screen's brightness for current lighting conditions detected by the device's built-in ambient light sensor. Tap the toggle until "OFF" is highlighted if you do not want the screen to adjust automatically to current lighting conditions.

If the iPod touch backlight isn't bright enough for you, adjust the settings and brighten the screen. Increasing the brightness makes it easier to see pictures, read email and text messages, see Web pages in Safari, watch movies and much more. There is no physical switch on the iPod touch to control brightness, so you'll need to change the device's brightness settings in the Settings app.
