On an iPod Classic or Nano, turn the click wheel while listening to a song to make the volume higher or lower. On an iPod Shuffle, press the "+" or "-" button to adjust the noise levels. On an iPod Touch, press the volume buttons on the left-hand side of the device. On all devices used with an Apple headphone set with built-in remote, press the small remote built into the headphone wires.
