Connect your iPod to the computer using the connection cable. Open iTunes if the program doesn't open automatically.
Select your iPod in the "Devices" section in the left-hand pane of iTunes. Click the "Summary" tab in the main pane. Check the box next to "Enable Disk Use."
Click the text file you created in Adobe Reader or Acrobat, and drag it to your iPod in the iTunes "Devices" section. Drop it directly into the iPod. Eject your iPod from the computer.
Select "Extras" on the iPod's main menu and choose "Notes." The text file will be located on the Notes menu page. Select the text file and you will be able to view it on your iPod.
You can use your iPod or iPhone to read PDF files and other documents without having to purchase a third-party iPod PDF viewing application. You can convert the PDF document using free Adobe products and transfer the file to your iPod using iTunes. This allows you to not only view important documents, but also share them with others without needing to connect to a computer.
