Click the iPod's icon in the left column under Devices.

Click the "Summary" tab located at the top of the main viewing pane in iTunes.

The iPod Touch has a feature that allows you to create a 4-digit password. You cannot enter the home screen of the device if you don't provide the correct password. You may, however, have forgotten this password. Your only course of action if you've forgotten your password is to reset the iPod Touch to factory settings. This can be done using iTunes. You'll need to place the iPod Touch in recovery mode before it can be recognized in iTunes.
