Unlock an iPod if You Have Forgotten the Combo

Unlock an iPod if You Have Forgotten the Combo - Connect your iPod to your computer using the iPod-compatible USB cable.

Load Apple's iTunes software. In many cases, the software will start automatically once your iPod is detected.
Verify your iPod is detected and is displaying in the Sources panel on the left side of iTunes.

Wait for the auto-synchronization process to complete.

Disconnect your iPod. The screen should be unlocked.

The iPod screen lock feature is designed to give you a degree of privacy, protecting the files on your portable entertainment device by requiring a four-digit code to unlock the iPod screen. It's a handy feature, unless, of course, you forget the code. While Apple representatives are unable to assist in the retrieval of a lost code, it's easy to unlock the screen yourself using Apple's iTunes software.
