Steve Jobs made a much-anticipated appearance at Apple's "It's Only Rock and Roll" event where he (along with Phil Schiller) revealed the updated iPods. Each one in the line featuring the iPod Classic to the iPod Nano got a boost.
The iPod Classic's capacity was boosted from 120GB to 160GB, while remaining as sleek as before, and keeping the same $249 price tag.
The iPod Shuffle got a blast of color. They're now available in 2GB and 4GB versions in pink, green, blue, black and silver. It still talks to you, lets you know what song's playing and when your battery's full. The 2GB is $59 and the 4GB is $79. There's also a new stainless steel "Special Edition" shuffle going for $99.
Apple lowered the price on the 8GB iPod Touch to the "magic price point" of $199. Higher capacity iPod Touch versions are now available: 32GB for $299 & 64GB for $399. Not only has the capacity increased, but the new iPod Touch is faster with the addition of OpenGL 2.0.
What stole the show, however, were the enhancements to the iPod Nano. Not only is it available in every color of the spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet), as well as silver and black, but it now comes with a built-in video camera. Other new features include a larger 2.2-inch-screen, pedometer, Genius playlists, FM radio tuner and VoiceOver.
