The Ubuntu operating system is growing in usage in large part because of its extensive out-of-the-box support for popular hardware devices like the iPod. With Ubuntu, you can manage your iPod right away without needing to install additional software. Rhythmbox, the default music player in Ubuntu, is designed to work with your iPod so that you can sync your music library, download audio files from your iPod or add podcasts to your collection. The software offers most of the same functionality that is available in iTunes and is easy to use for anyone who is already familiar with the iTunes interface.
