Click "Start" and then click "Control Panel." Open the "Portable Media Devices" menu. Look for your iPod's icon in the list of available drives. Double-click this icon to open it.
Click the "Tools" menu and then select "Options." Choose the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" option. A number of folders appear in the window. Open the folder titled "iPod_ControlMusic." All of the songs on your iPod Touch sit in this folder. Songs are grouped into artist folders. Click and drag audio files from these folders to your computer's desktop. Windows will automatically copy the files to your computer hard-drive.
The iPod Touch features video calling, HD recording, a web browser, and a 3.5 inch touch-screen. The device can also host thousands of third-party applications downloaded from the iTunes "App Store." Computers treat the iPod Touch as a portable media device similar to a USB flash drive. This means files can be transferred to and from an iPod Touch in the same way files are transferred from a portable USB drive. You can download songs from your iPod touch to a computer by uncovering the hidden folders on the device and then copying audio files to your computer's hard-drive.
