Launch HandBrake and insert the DVD you want to convert. HandBrake will ask you to find the VIDEO_TS folder, which is on the root level of all DVDs.
Pick the resolution for the clip you're about to rip (convert). HandBrake allows you to select high or low resolution ripping options for the iPod Touch. While high resolution offers better quality, low resolution files take up less space.
Press the green Start button to begin ripping your DVD. Depending on your processor and drive speed, this process could take a little while.
Copy the newly-created file into iTunes.
Converting DVDs for use with your iPod touch is an excellent way to take videos you want to watch with you when you're on the go. It's a fairly simple process that can breathe new life into your home video library. Downloading DVDs to your iPod touch is a great alternative when you're away from a Wi-Fi signal and can't access online content.
IMPORTANT: These instructions are only for noncommercial DVDs. You must own the rights to all DVD content you put on an iPod (see Warnings below).
