Reset the iPod. Hold down the Play button and the Menu button simultaneously for approximately 30 seconds until the Apple symbol reappears on your screen. You can also restore the iPod to factory settings by clicking the Restore option under your iPod's Summary tab in iTunes. Restoring your iPod or resetting it will erase all data and settings.
The battery may not operate optimally unless you follow some of these suggestions from Apple:
Download the latest version of iPod software.
Set the hold switch when you are not using the iPod.
Use the iPod at room temperature.
Charge it fully, which can take up to 4 hours.
Charge the iPod if the battery is fully discharged, even if you won't be using it for a while.
The Apple iPod allows us to take our songs anywhere on the go, until the battery starts acting up. It may seem not to hold a charge.
