Open iTunes on your computer. If iTunes is set up as your computer's default music player it should open automatically when your CD is inserted. If it doesn't launch on its own, open it manually.
Click the "Import CD" option, which is located in the bottom right-hand corner of the iTunes window. Clicking this option will copy the CD to your iTunes library.
Connect your iPod Classic to your computer by inserting the dock connector end of the supplied cable to the dock connector on the bottom of your iPod and the USB end of the cable to a high-speed USB port on your computer.
The iPod Classic is Apple's highest-capacity iPod, with up to 160GB--40,000 songs--of storage space, depending on which model you have. That means it would cost you literally thousands of dollars to fill it up if you only used music downloaded from the iTunes Store--something that isn't feasible for most people. Fortunately, you can also add music from your own CD collection to your iPod Classic, meaning you can utilize music you've already paid for to fill up the space on your iPod.
