Open the iTunes software on your computer manually if it doesn’t launch automatically when your computer starts reading your CD.
Click the “Import CD” button in the main window of iTunes—the “Import CD” button will appear in the lower right corner of the window. Doing this will copy your CD to your iTunes library. If your computer is connected to the Internet, iTunes will automatically find the song, artist and album name and cover art for your CD.
Connect your iPod touch to your computer using the dock connector and USB cable that comes with the iPod touch.
While it’s gaining notoriety for some of its other features, including its touch screen, built-in Wi-Fi and the applications it can run, Apple’s iPod Touch—or, as it is sometimes called, the iTouch—is at its core still an iPod. That means that while it can do a lot of other things, one of its main functions is still playing music. You can download music for your iPod touch from the iTunes Store, but you can also add your own CDs to the device. Before you can do that, however, you’ll first need to add the CD to your iTunes library.
