Instructions to Add Music to an Apple iPod - Use the USB cable that came with your iPod to connect it to your computer's USB port.

Open iTunes. Click on the "iPod" icon under the "Devices" on the left side of the window.
Click on the "Music" tab in the top of the main window. Check the option to "Sync Music."

Choose to sync your "Entire music library" or "Selected playlists, artists, and genres." Press the "Apply" button to add the music to your iPod.



Click on the "iPod" icon under "Devices" to select it and press the "Eject" button before you disconnect the USB cable.

Apple calls adding music to your iPod "syncing." You sync your iPod to iTunes, the Apple music manager and player, and the iPod automatically adds the songs in your iTunes library. When you sync, you can choose to add all of your music, or select specific playlists. Apple iTunes is included as part of the Mac OS X operating system and it is available as a free download for Windows users.
