Send an Invitation in an iPod Calendar - Tap the "Settings" button on the iPod Touch's screen, and touch the "Wi-Fi" tab. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to enable Wi-Fi, and touch the network you want to connect to with your iPod Touch.

Push the "Home" button, and touch the "Calendar" icon on the home screen. Tap the "+" button in the top-right corner of the screen.
Touch the "Title" field, and enter a name for the event and then enter the address or location of the event. Tap "Done" to return to the previous screen.

Tap the "Starts/Ends" tab, and enter the date and time of the event. Tap "Done" to return to the main event page.



Tap the "Invitees" tab on the screen, and tap the "+" button to display your list of contacts. Tap the name you wish to add to the invite list, and tap the email address. Tap the "+" button to add more names to the invitation list.

The Calendar application on your iPod Touch provides calendar event synchronization as well as the ability to create new events in the application, according to the official Apple iPod Touch iOS 4 user guide. As long as you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, the iPod Touch is able to send out invitations to your invitees via email. Once your invited guest receives the email and responds, his availability will display in the event window in the Calendar application.
