Troubleshoot the iPod Backlight

Troubleshoot the iPod Backlight - Turn on your click wheel iPod.

Select the "Settings" main menu option.
Choose the "Brightness" option from the "Settings" menu.

Use the iPod's click wheel to adjust the backlight. Move your finger across the click wheel counter-clockwise to decrease the brightness and clockwise to increase the brightness. Once you've found an acceptable level of brightness, press the "Menu" key to save your settings changes and return to the main menu.

Turn on your iPod Touch.

All Apple iPod units that have an LCD screen built in also have something called a "backlight" installed. This backlight sits behind the screen and can be adjusted, allowing you to clearly see your iPod screen even when you're in a room with low light (or conversely, too much light). If you're having problems with your iPod backlight and need to troubleshoot it, you should enter the "Settings" menu, and make adjustments to accommodate your lighting situation.
