No matter what the reason is--snoopy coworkers, music that’s inappropriate for your children or a desire to keep it to yourself--the fourth generation iPod Nano is equipped with a screen lock. The screen lock gives you the ability to lock the screen with a combination--when it is locked, only people with the combination can do anything with the iPod. There is a “Lock Screen” option in the iPod’s “Extras” settings, but there’s no visible unlock option. Fortunately, the unlock option is paired with the lock screen, making it easy to access--or you can just let your computer do the unlocking for you.
