Update iPod Software on a PC - Connect your iPod to your computer with a USB connector.

Upgrade your iTunes program. Visit the Apple iTunes Web site and review the system requirements for iTunes 7. If your system meets the requirements, install iTunes 7, which includes the most recent iPod software updates.
Open iTunes 7 and click on the iPod icon under Devices.
