Fix an iPod That Won't Turn On - Check the Hold switch to see if it is off. Located on the top or the bottom of the iPod, when it is in the "on" position you will see an orange patch of color. Slide the switch until the orange coloring disappears. Try to turn on the iPod.

Make sure the battery is fully charged by connecting your iPod to your computer's built-in FireWire or USB port or into an electrical outlet using your Apple iPod power adapter. Note: iPods without a click wheel cannot be charged using a USB port. After your battery is fully charged, try to turn on the iPod.
Reset your iPod.
