Delete Songs by Resetting Your iPod - Plug the iPod that you're resetting into the computer with the USB cable for the iPod.

Open the iTunes software.
Click the iPod that's listed under "Devices."

Click the "Summary" tab that's found at the top of the middle iTunes window.



Click "Restore" in the middle of iTunes and a window will appear. Click "Restore" found in the open window to begin the process. Another window will appear.

Resetting (also known as "reformatting" or "restoring") your iPod is not something that is just done when a user is experiencing difficulties using the device. This process can also be used to eliminate everything that has ever been uploaded onto a particular iPod. When you reset the iPod, you can essentially "start from scratch" with that media player. The iTunes program will allow you reset the iPod and thus delete all songs from the device.
