Disconnect a Charging iPod

Disconnect a Charging iPod - Look at the iPod screen. If you see the words "Connecting" or "Synchronizing" proceed to Step 2. If not, skip to Step 3.

Click the "Eject" button next to the iPod in the device list while connected to Apple iTunes. An iPod can not be disconnected while it is synchronizing your music without the risk of deleting music files. The iPod will only sync when it is connected to a computer. If the iPod is plugged into a power outlet or cigarette car lighter outlet, you can skip this step.
Grasp the charging cord plug between your thumb and forefinger and pull the adapter from the iPod charging outlet, located on the bottom of the device. Never pull the charger by the cord, as this can damage the wires.
