Open your music folder on your computer and select the music you would like to add to your iPod Nano. Drag and drop these songs from their folders onto your iTunes "Music" library page.
Click the tab for your iPod Nano under the "Devices" menu in iTunes and select the "Music" tab on your iPod page. Be sure that all of your songs, artists, albums or playlists are selected with a check mark in front of them, and click "Sync" at the bottom of the page.
Allow up to 20 minutes for your music to load to your iPod Nano 4G device and disconnect it from your computer once the download is complete.
The iPod Nano is a smaller and sleeker version of the classic model, and features a variety of the same capabilities and technologies. Like all other iPods, the fourth-generation Nano uses the iTunes media player to add songs to the device. With the Apple USB cable, you can download your entire music catalog to your iPod Nano in just minutes.
