Download Music onto a 4G iPod Nano - Connect your iPod Nano to your computer by plugging one end of the Apple USB cord into the bottom of your device and the other end into your computer's USB port. Allow the iTunes program to load automatically onto your desktop.

Open your music folder on your computer and select the music you would like to add to your iPod Nano. Drag and drop these songs from their folders onto your iTunes "Music" library page.
Click the tab for your iPod Nano under the "Devices" menu in iTunes and select the "Music" tab on your iPod page. Be sure that all of your songs, artists, albums or playlists are selected with a check mark in front of them, and click "Sync" at the bottom of the page.

Allow up to 20 minutes for your music to load to your iPod Nano 4G device and disconnect it from your computer once the download is complete.
