Erase Unwanted Data From an iPod

Erase Unwanted Data From an iPod - Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB cable.

Open iTunes. iTunes will recognize your iPod and display it under "Devices" on the left side.
Set up your iPod for manual management of content, so that you can choose which files to remove (and add, if you need to). Select your iPod in the "Devices" list and click the "Summary" tab in the main window. Click "Manually Manage Music and Videos." Click "Apply."

Click the gray triangle next to your iPod icon in the "Devices" list to expand its contents.

Click a category that contains files you want to delete from your iPod, such as "Music," "Movies" or "TV shows."

Just as you would use the iTunes software to add new music and videos to an iPod, you also can erase files you no longer want to carry around on the device. You must use iTunes to manage all of your iPod content. It is available for free download on the Apple website. Simply connect your iPod to your computer and you'll be able to delete individual songs and playlists that are on the device.
