My iPod Touch Battery Won't Hold a Charge - Discharge the battery completely and then recharge the battery until it's fully charged. Although the iPod can charge up to 80 percent in one hour, it can take up to four hours to fully charge to 100 percent.

Connect your iPod Touch to your computer with the Apple dock connector to USB cable to check for updates in iTunes. If iTunes detects that a newer software version is available, you will be prompted to install that version to your iPod. You should update your iPod because Apple engineers may find new ways to enhance your iPod's battery performance.
Adjust the temperature in the room to 32 degrees to 95 degrees fahrenheit. If you have left your iPod in a temperature that is too hot or too cold, allow the iPod to sit at room temperate before waking it from sleep mode.

Connect the iPod to the power adapter. Press and hold the "Power" button until the Apple logo appears if the iPod does not wake from sleep mode.



Press the "Sleep/Wake" button on the iPod Touch when it's not in use. This will prevent the iPod from waking up and using power. Press "Pause" when you're done listening to music on the iPod or turn it off.

The iPod Touch seems to makes the time go by faster with all that it has to offer. Whether you'd like to check your email, download some apps or listen to music, you can do it all with this device. However, it can be a problem when it won't hold a charge for as long as you would like it to. There are a few steps you can take to get the most out of your iPod Touch battery life and have it charging again as it once did.
