Click "iTunes Store" under "Store" in the left side of the iTunes application window. The iTunes Store opens on the right side of the application window. Browse featured apps, click a category or type search terms in the "Search Store" box at the top of the window and then hit the "Enter" key on your keyboard.
Click the name of an app to read details about it, see screenshots and read customer reviews. Click the button below the icon of the app, which will be marked with the word "Free" or the app's price to download it to your computer. Type your Apple ID at the prompt so Apple can charge the price of the app to the credit card associated with your Apple ID.
Connect your iPod touch to the computer using the USB cable that came with the device. The iPod touch icon appears in the left side of the iTunes application window.
The iPod touch, a portable music player made by Apple, comes with a number of free apps installed. One way to add apps to your device is by connecting your iPod touch to Wi-Fi and then downloading apps through the App Store app. However, when you're not in range of a Wi-Fi network, you can download apps to your computer in iTunes and then transfer those apps to the iPod touch via the USB cable that came with the device.
