Put Music Onto an Apple iPod Nano - Download the latest version of Apple's iTunes from the Apple website. During installation, follow the on-screen prompts. The program searches your computer for music and adds it to your iTunes library.

Connect the Apple iPod Nano to the computer using the USB-to-iPod connector cable that was included with the device.
Enter a name for your iPod Nano when prompted by iTunes. The name is used by the program to identify the device in the future. Click "Done."
