Sort Audiobooks on the Apple iPod Touch

Sort Audiobooks on the Apple iPod Touch - Open the folder containing the audiobook's protected AAC format files (M4A).

Rename each file to have the extension M4B instead of M4A. Both iTunes and the iPod will only recognize Apple's M4B format,or Audible.com's AA format as valid audiobooks. ITunes then sorts them appropriately.
Play a few seconds of each track through your iPod or iTunes. If playing on iTunes, sync the files to your iPod afterward.

Open the "Music" app and go to "Genres," followed by "Audiobook." Your files should now be sorted accordingly, by author then by title attributed to that author.

Run iTunes on your computer and look for the iTunes Library Window, which should display a number of playlists.

The iPod touch is the touchscreen-equipped version of Apple landmark portable media player. Used for a number of multimedia applications, the iPod touch can play audiobooks. Using an iPod to play audiobooks can make many otherwise mundane tasks more pleasant. While the touch's media player features an audiobooks genre, tracks without a specific file extension won't be recognized and sorted as "audiobooks." A few quick edits to the track names can clear up these issues, and an iTunes playlist can make a suitable last resort.
