Click "Eject" in the iTunes side menu to remove the iPod.

IPod deauthorization is a part of deauthorizing the iTunes program on your computer, which removes access to protected music and videos that were purchased from the iTunes Store. According to Apple, music purchased after April 2009 does not contain FairPlay protection but movies and TV shows still require authorization. Apple limits the number of computers you can authorize to play protected content to five different computers per year to prevent unauthorized sharing.
