Stop an iPod from Automatically Disconnecting After Sync - Connect the iPod to the computer with the device's USB connection cable.

Double-click the iTunes application icon to launch the program.
Click on the iPod listed beneath the "Devices" heading in iTunes.

Click the "Summary" tab at the top of the iTunes window.

Place a checkmark next to the "Enable Disk Use" option. The iPod will remain connected to the computer after the sync process has commenced.

If you have your iPod configured to sync automatically with your iTunes library, the device may disconnect automatically after they sync process is complete. To prevent an iPod from automatically disconnecting, you must enable the device's hard disk mode through iTunes.
