Unfreeze My iPod Nano 5th Generation

Unfreeze My iPod Nano 5th Generation - Flip the switch on the top of the iPod Nano to the "Unlock" position (if you can see orange on the switch, you are in "Lock" mode).

Push down and hold the circular "Select" button in the middle of the iPod. Eventually the screen goes black and the device turns off.
Wait a few moments, then push the circular button again. The Apple logo appears on screen, then the display screen appears in view. You can now control the iPod again as the screen is no longer frozen.

When using the Apple iPod Nano fifth generation, you may occasionally run into an issue with the LCD display screen. When the internal processor runs into a problem it is not able to fix, the LCD screen freezes up, locking out all functionality. In order to unfreeze the iPod, you need to use the built-in kill feature. This restarts the iPod Nano, correcting the screen freeze issue.
