Insert the smaller jack into a computer USB port. Turn the computer on. Alternatively, an iPod wall charger, which is sold separately, allows you to charge the iPod touch with an electrical outlet. Plug the wall charger into a working electrical outlet. Plug the small jack into the port on the wall charger. The battery icon, located in the upper-right corner of the display screen, will indicate the battery is charging.
Allow the battery to fully charge. When the battery icon changes to indicate the unit is fully charged, remove the iPod from the cable.
