Connect an iPod Nano to a Windows XP PC

Connect an iPod Nano to a Windows XP PC - Boot up your PC.

Download the latest version of iTunes from the Apple website if you don't have it already.
Connect the USB side of your sync cable into an open USB port on your computer.

Plug the other side of the cable into the bottom of your iPod Nano.

Allow XP to recognize and install the Nano drivers. iTunes will also immediately perform a sync when the Nano is plugged in.

Connect your iPod Nano to your PC to transfer music, videos, pictures and more. Windows XP automatically recognizes and installs device drivers, so you do not need a disk to install the files that make your Nano work (see Warnings for a tip about XP versions, however). After connecting your Nano to your PC, use iTunes to transfer your media between the two devices.
