Copy Songs From CDs to iPods

Copy Songs From CDs to iPods - Insert the desired CD into your computer's CD drive.

Open iTunes. If you do not already have iTunes, download it for free (see Resources).
Select the audio CD in the Devices menu.

Click on the "Import CD" button in the lower right of the iTunes screen. This uploads, or "rips," the CD to your computer's hard drive, and the songs are automatically added to your iTunes library.

Connect your iPod to your computer using the iPod's USB cable. The iPod automatically syncs with your iTunes library and uploads the songs.

Apple's iPods are popular MP3 players, capable of storing hundreds or even thousands of songs on a tiny device. The extremely portable nature of this device is one of the factors that have led to the declining interest in CDs as a music storage medium. However, you may have a significant portion of your music on CDs and may wish to transfer it to your iPod. Accomplish this fairly easily using Apple's iTunes software.
