Delete the iPod Memory

Delete the iPod Memory - Plug the iPod into a USB port on the computer.

Open iTunes. You will see the name of the iPod on the left side of the audio program underneath the heading "Devices."
Click the name of the iPod. When you highlight this name, tabs will appear at the top of iTunes.

Select the "Settings" tab.

Click the "Restore" button in the center of iTunes. A window will appear in the center of iTunes.

Deleting the memory on your iPod is something you should do if you ever decide to purchase a used iPod. Deleting the iPod memory can also fix problems you may be experiencing with the device and remove all bad files on the iPod. Just as with managing content on your iPod, you must sync the iPod with iTunes in order to delete the iPod memory. You must then restore the iPod to factory settings in order to fully delete the iPod memory.
