Scroll down the list of options from the "Settings" menu, then choose "Wi-Fi." This opens a new list of options relating to the device's built-in Wi-Fi.
Turn "Wi-Fi" to "Off" by using your finger to slide the button.
Power on the iPod Touch, and tap the "Settings" application, located on the home screen.
The iPod Touch has several features new to the iPod model, including the ability to download applications and surf the Internet. The device can access the Internet with its built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, allowing a user to access the web after connecting the iPod Touch to a wireless access point. However, sometimes you may want to conserve battery power or make sure that your iPod doesn't go online for security reasons. If this is the case, you can turn off Wi-Fi or modify settings so that the iPod will not connect automatically.
