Determining whether you need a software or firmware update on your iPod Touch is an important process. Apple releases various updates through their firmware and software updates. These updates often will fix current technical problems that users commonly experience on their iPod Touch. Therefore, if you do not know whether you need to update your iPod Touch, or you do not know how to update the firmware, your iPod Touch may perform less than optimally.
