Download Music to an iPod From a Desktop - Attach the data cable to the port located at the bottom of your iPod device. Connect the other end of the data cable to an available USB port on your desktop computer.

Click and launch the iTunes program on your desktop computer.
Select your iPod from the "Devices" subsection on the left-hand side of the iTunes window.

Click on the "Music" tab located at the top of the iTunes window.
