Fix a Dim Screen on the iPod Touch

Fix a Dim Screen on the iPod Touch - Press the "Home" button just below the iPod touch touchscreen until you return to the device's home screen.

Tap the "Settings" app. The Settings screen opens on the screen.
Tap "Brightness." The Brightness screen appears on the screen.

Tap the "ON/OFF" button to the right of "Auto-Brightness" until "OFF" appears with a gray background.

Press and hold your finger against the gray circle on the bar between the "Small Sun" and "Large Sun" icons. Drag the circle left to dim the screen; drag the circle to the right to make the screen brighter.

Apple's iPod Touch has a built-in light sensor that adjusts the screen's brightness depending on the ambient light in the room. This not only saves battery life, but extends the life of your screen. Unfortunately, the light sensor can malfunction or be taking an incorrect reading due to a shadow or bright light in the background. Disable the automatic brightness settings and change the screen's brightness manually to fix problems with a dim screen.
