Right-click the wireless network adapter and select "Properties." Select "Wireless Networks." Click "Add..."
Enter a name for the Ad-Hoc wireless network. Check the box labeled "This is a computer-to-computer network." Uncheck the box labeled "The key is provided for me automatically."
Enter a network key in the designated box and confirm it in the second box. This is the password you will use to connect the iPod to the Wi-Fi network. Click "OK" to save the changes. The computer will now broadcast the new Ad-Hoc wireless network from the computer's Ethernet connection to the modem.
The iPod Touch is capable of browsing the Internet, though only via a wireless connection. If you do not have a wireless network in your home, you can still get your iPod online. So long as your computer running Windows XP is connected to your modem via Ethernet cable and has a wireless network adapter, you can create a wireless network. Within Windows XP, you can create an Ad-Hoc network, which uses the wired connection to broadcast a wireless network; this allows other devices to connect to the Internet wirelessly, connecting to the Windows XP machine.
