Select "Set Combination." On some iPod models, select the "Lock" menu option instead.
Enter a security code of your choosing by turning the click wheel to display the first number. Press the center button to confirm the number. Repeat for the remaining three numbers that you need to enter. The iPod will return to the Screen Lock menu after you've entered the fourth digit.
Select "Turn Screen Lock On" in the Screen Lock menu. Select "Lock" when the iPod displays the "Please Remember It!" message. The iPod now displays the "Enter Code" screen and a "key" icon appears in the upper right corner of the screen, confirming the iPod is locked.
Activating the "Screen Lock" function on your Apple iPod prevents other people from using the device or accessing your music and personal information. Once you have enabled the Screen Lock feature, you will need to enter a four-digit passcode to unlock and operate the iPod. To lock your Apple iPod with Screen Lock, first set a security code and then enable the feature from the iPod's "Extras" menu.
