The Apple iPod has a few models that it identifies as second generation, or 2G, including the iPod Nano 2G, the iPod Touch 2G and the iPod Shuffle 2G. Even though the iPod Touch 2G is the largest, it actually requires the fewest steps to open. When opening the iPod Touch 2G, it is important to not scratch the screen. The Nano and Shuffle 2G are both enclosed in a single case cover, meaning there is no front and rear case covers that come together around the motherboard and other internal parts as with the iPod Touch model. This makes them more complicated to open.
