Repair an iPod That Has Been Soaked in Water

Repair an iPod That Has Been Soaked in Water - Dry the iPod out on its own if it is only slightly wet. You can put it under a lamp or use a hair dryer to accelerate this process.

Pour some rubbing alcohol over the iPod. The alcohol will draw the water out and will also evaporate faster.
Bury your wet iPod in a bowl of rice, which will absorb the moisture. Make sure it is completely covered on all sides, and leave it in the bowl for approximately one week.

Pry the iPod apart to let the components air out more directly. Use a credit card or an X-acto knife to slowly separate the front and back of the case.

Even with decreasing prices for some portable music players, they still represent an investment for many consumers. No matter how hard you try to protect your technology, accidents are bound to happen. If your iPod is always with you, it's bound to get wet--either from rain or a spilled drink. When this happens, there are several different ways that you can try to dry out your wet iPod, although no method is guaranteed.
