Replace the Battery of a 2nd Generation iPod Shuffle - Purchase a battery replacement kit for the Shuffle at sites like iPodJuice.com or iPodBattery.com. Kits come with a small screwdriver, prying device and replacement battery, and cost between $20 and $30, as of 2010.

Insert the prying tool into the seam between the top of the casing and the body of the iPod, and carefully pry away the top. Remove the Power button and the Shuffle button, which will be loosened.
Insert the prying tool into the seam between the bottom of the casing and the body of the iPod. Carefully pry the bottom of the iPod out of the case.
